The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Wicomico County Board of Education, is sponsoring the Honor Student Discount Program, designed to recognize and promote academic achievement in our middle and high schools.
This recognition takes the form of an ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE HONOR CARD, which is issued to students who have obtained honor roll status at the end of each report card (marking) period. They are designed to be used by the students to qualify for discounts and various other incentives being offered by participating area merchants.
All Wicomico County students will receive a school ID that will automatically have the honor card attached to the back of the cards. Students who earn Honor Roll level grades will receive a sticker to validate the honor card. Each marking period a new sticker will validate the student's honor status.
The Chamber is looking for businesses interested in rewarding area students for superior performance. If you are not a business or profession which might have a product or service appropriate for this program, your financial support would be greatly appreciated in helping to defray program expenses. Participating merchants will be given a decal to display in their place of business indicating that they accept the honor card. All businesses supporting the program will be on a list distributed to each honor roll student. Posters listing the participating businesses and their discount are posted in several places at each school. This list is also printed periodically in the local press to recognize your support of education.
Click here for a registration form. For more information contact the Chamber at 410-749-0144. Indicate your wish to participate by mailing back the attached form or faxing it to the Chamber at 410-860-9925 or you may e-mail your interest to chamber@salisburyarea.com .
Thanks for supporting academic excellence in our schools.
