The Business Leadership Network (BLN) is a national, employer-led endeavor of the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, supported by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States. The program promotes best practices to enhance employment opportunities for candidates who happen to have disabilities. Started in 1994 in six states, the program has expanded to thirty-one states, seventeen state chapters, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and one Canadian province. The Eastern Shore BLN evolved from the Lower Shore BLN which was founded in 1998 under the leadership of Harvard Custom Manufacturing, Inc. in Salisbury. During the fall of 2001 the LSBLN expanded to include all the counties on the Delmarva Peninsula and changed its name to Eastern Shore Business Leadership Network. |
